About Me

My photo
I've been crocheting for over 30 years, and come from a family of yarn and fabric artisans. I learned to sew from my Grandmother who made several quilts a year entirely by hand...one for each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild. Life situations and changes caused me to take a chance and open my first Etsy shop in Feb. 2011. A few successful months later, I opened my second Etsy shop as BeccaTheBaker...and later in 2011 opened my third Etsy shop as BeyondCrochetToo. I'm a single mother of 2 teenagers (a girl and a boy), plus 2 cats. I'm a 5th generation Native Californian (Northern California. And am happy to be back on the West Coast in the Pacific Northwest where I belong.

Out with the old....in with the new.

Well, it took us 4 days longer than it was supposed to, but the kids and I finally made it to our new hometown of Corvallis, Oregon this past Sunday arriving at 4am after nearly 20 hours of driving - only stopping long enough for a 45 minute meal, and gas station breaks.

Needless to say, it was a very long and tiresome trip. It definitely had it's share of ups and down, but it was an adventure...and some bad (such as car trouble) was to be expected....maybe not to the extent of what we had to actually deal with, but expected just the same. And in the end we all arrived safely, which is all that matters.

My daughter is currently working on editing all the video footage we took, as I go back and review our trip from beginning to end....and all the good that's come to us since. And I look forward to being able to share all with you soon.

In the meantime, here are some of my favorite new places here in Corvallis....
